Sr. Software Engineer (SAS Developer)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Software Developer with a strong background in SAS to join our dynamic team at BASF in Florham Park, NJ. The ideal candidate will have 5 7 years of experience in software development, with a proven track record of delivering high quality software solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of SAS programming and its applications in data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications using SAS and other programming languages as needed.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Implement data analysis and reporting solutions using SAS to support business objectives.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Debug and troubleshoot software issues, ensuring timely resolution.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to software development and SAS.
• Document software designs, processes, and procedures for future reference.
• Participate in project planning and estimation activities.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong proficiency in SAS programming and data manipulation.
• Experience in software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
• Solid understanding of database management and SQL.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with other programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
• Experience with data visualization tools.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
• Experience in cloud computing platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5 7 years of relevant experience in software development.
• Proven experience with SAS programming in a professional setting.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast pacedenvironment.
