Scientist III or Principal Scientist I - LC-MS and Analytical Support - FSP

We are looking for a Scientist III or Principal Scientist I – Liquid Chromatography – Mass Spectrometry ( LC-MS ) and Analytical Support to work as a full-time employee of Parexel FSP on long-term assignment onsite at one of our clients located in Rahway, NJ. This position offers full benefits, sick time, 401K, paid holidays, and paid time off. This position does not offer any sponsorship.

T his is a laboratory-based role that maintains and operates open access LC-MS instrumentation and performs other tasks as assigned by the client.

• Checks instrument performance and suitability routinely, prepares mobile phases, and performs routine upkeep of open access LC-MS instruments

• M aintains accurate documentation and records, data/file transfer, etc.

• Communicate s status of instruments to end-user . Responds to end-user repair calls for LC-MS instruments and troubleshoots/ repairs simple issues such as leaks or clogs.

• Submits and coordinates repair tickets for more complex issues

• Assist with purity analysis of investigational compounds by LC and high-resolution MS experiments.

• Support the installation and qualification process for o pen a ccess instruments , including coordination with vendors.

• LC and LC-MS analysis of small molecule samples as needed.

Qualifications

• Scientist III: a B achelor’s degree i n Chemistry or a closely rated fi e ld and 3 to 5 y ears of relevant experience or a M aster’s degree in Chemistry or a closely rated fie l d and 1 to 2 year s of relevant experience

• Principal Scientist I: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least 3-5 years of experience or a Master’s degree in a relevant field with at least 1-2 years of experience

Required Skills And Experience

• Reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC)

• Experience with Waters, Sciex , or Agilent LC-MS instrumentation and software

• High resolution mass spectrometry

• Strong communication and coordination skills
