Accounting Clerk – Marlton, NJ (Onsite)
Full-Time | Temp-to-Perm or Direct Hire
About the Role
Are you a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with a foundation in Accounting or Finance? We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to join our team in Marlton, NJ. This is an exceptional entry-point role focused primarily on Accounts Payable, with exposure to Billing and Accounts Receivable.
We are committed to hands-on training and long-term growth. This is an ideal position for a recent college graduate or an ambitious candidate with 0–2 years of experience seeking to build a professional career in accounting.
Key Responsibilities & Daily Impact
You will be a vital part of our Accounting department, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.
Accounts Payable (Primary Focus)
- Process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Match invoices to vendor contracts and secure necessary disbursement approvals.
- Accurately code expenses to the proper General Ledger (GL) accounts.
- Prepare and execute check runs and electronic (ACH) payments.
- Perform periodic reconciliation of vendor statements to ensure accuracy.
Billing & Accounts Receivable (Growth & Support)
- Assist in the timely preparation and distribution of customer invoices.
- Apply customer payments and assist in maintaining the Accounts Receivable (AR) aging report.
- Support collections follow-up and communication as needed.
- Resolve billing and payment discrepancies by collaborating effectively with internal departments.
General Accounting & Administrative Support
- Assist the team with tasks related to month-end close processes.
- Maintain orderly, organized digital and physical accounting files.
- Provide general administrative support to the Accounting Department.
What You Will Bring
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is preferred (strong coursework or related certifications will be considered).
- Experience: 0–2 years of relevant accounting experience (includes internships, volunteer experience, or strong academic exposure).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (ability to sort, filter, and comfortable learning functions; VLOOKUP is a significant plus).
- Core Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication abilities.
- Mindset: A strong eagerness to learn, a proactive attitude, and a desire to take on new responsibilities.
- Location: Must be able to reliably work onsite at our Marlton, NJ office.
