Overnight Coordinator

The Rescue Mission of Trenton is seeking a dedicated and experienced Overnight Coordinator for our Emergency Shelter. This vital role ensures consistent floor coverage and oversees the overnight team to maintain a safe, clean, healthy, compliant, and client-centered environment.

The Overnight Coordinator will foster a team culture built on trust, professional development, dignity, and respect , while promoting accountability and consistency across the overnight shift.

Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a shelter or human services setting.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Basic spreadsheeting, scheduling and computer skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.

Preferred:

• Experience working with vulnerable populations.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care and de-escalation techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and support to overnight shelter staff.
• Ensure shelter operations are safe, clean, healthy, compliant, and client-centered.
• Promote a culture of accountability, consistency, and professionalism.
• Conduct regular walkthroughs and monitor shelter activities.
• Address incidents and emergencies with calm and effective leadership.
• Maintain accurate documentation and shift reports.
• Support staff development through onboarding training and coaching.
• Collaborate with day staff to ensure continuity of care and operations.

Salary: $50,000 - $55,000
Schedule: Saturday-Thursday; 11p-7a
