App Developer
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced WebFOCUS Application Developer to support the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of enterprise reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with WebFOCUS App Studio, dashboards, and reporting tools, along with a solid background in SQL, UI development, and mainframe-based reporting environments. This is a hybrid role in Trenton, NJ, and only local candidates able to attend in-person interviews and onsite work will be considered. Required Education
Bachelor’s degree (4-year college) or equivalent technical experience Required Skills & Experience
7+ years of experience with WebFOCUS, including: App Studio Dashboards Managed Reporting Environment (MRE) Report Caster InfoAssist Strong experience in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Experience with GUI-based and dynamic parameter-driven reporting Strong knowledge of FOCUS / WebFOCUS reporting frameworks Experience with JCL, JCL Procedures, and ISPF Working knowledge of DB2, SQL, and stored procedures (preferred) Strong background in Business and System Analysis Experience developing and enhancing enterprise reports Preferred Skills Advanced report development and optimization experience Exposure to mainframe reporting environments Key Responsibilities
Analyze business and technical requirements for converting mainframe FOCUS reports to WebFOCUS Evaluate and document existing report logic and specifications Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and implement new and enhanced WebFOCUS reports Identify, analyze, and document report defects Define data mapping requirements in collaboration with business analysts and data architects Ensure correct data sources and reporting structures are established Participate in testing activities and validate reporting accuracy Work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment Communicate effectively with technical teams, business users, and stakeholders Recommend improvements to project standards to enhance report quality and performance Ensure compliance with established reporting standards and procedures
