HR Specialist

Location: Hopatcong, NJ Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite Type: Contract-to-Hire Pay Rate: $24-$27/hour

Job Summary

We are seeking an HR Specialist to support day-to-day human resources operations for an onsite team in Hopatcong, NJ. This contract-to-hire role will partner closely with HR leadership and employees to ensure smooth execution of core HR functions, employee support, and compliance with company policies and employment regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding HR-related questions and support
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding, including new hire paperwork and orientation
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation (electronic and physical files)
• Support employee relations, benefits administration, and time & attendance tracking
• Assist with payroll processing by providing accurate employee data and updates
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies
• Support HR initiatives, audits, and special projects as needed
• Collaborate with management on employee communications and HR best practices

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in an HR support, HR Specialist, or HR Generalist role
• Working knowledge of HR processes, employment laws, and compliance requirements
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and confidentiality
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); HRIS experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, onsite environment
