Operations Specialist

A leading financial services organization is seeking an Operations Intermediate Specialist – Fund Account Opening to support specialized operational activities related to mutual fund account onboarding and processing. This role serves as a subject matter resource and is responsible for handling moderately complex operational tasks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and client service.

Responsibilities

Securities Processing

• Process and validate mutual fund account transactions and documentation
• Verify accuracy of account and transaction information
• Manage daily workflow and volume efficiently
• Perform intraday and end-of-day reconciliation
• Ensure deadlines and operational requirements are consistently met

Client Service

• Provide high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders
• Respond promptly to inquiries and requests
• Track and follow up on outstanding issues

Risk & Controls

• Identify, document, and escalate operational errors and discrepancies
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and reduce risk exposure
• Support implementation of procedures, controls, and process improvements
• Participate in fund account-related operational projects

Account Processing & Reporting

• Review and execute fund account documentation
• Investigate and respond to fund account opening inquiries
• Accurately update and maintain account data within internal systems
• Maintain and review daily operational reports related to fund account openings

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
• 1–2 years of experience in financial services operations, global custody, or investment operations
• Experience supporting mutual fund account opening or securities processing preferred
• Knowledge of operational processes within financial services
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure
