Construction Inspector
Location: Northern New Jersey

Be the Eyes and Ears Behind Critical Infrastructure Projects.A highly respected engineering and construction consulting firm is seeking a Construction Inspector to support the successful delivery of transportation, municipal, utility, roadway, water/wastewater, and public infrastructure projects throughout New Jersey.

- Perform daily construction inspections on roadway, utility, drainage, water, wastewater, and infrastructure projects.
- Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, permits, and contract requirements.
- Document project progress through daily reports, photographs, and field notes.
- Verify quantities for contractor payment applications.
- Observe construction methods, materials, and workmanship for compliance with project standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, project managers, and agency representatives.
- Review traffic control measures and job site safety practices.
- Identify potential issues and communicate findings to project leadership.
- Assist with project closeout documentation and final inspections.
- High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of construction inspection experience preferred.
- Experience with transportation, municipal, utility, roadway, or public infrastructure projects.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites throughout New Jersey.
- NICET Certification
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician
- Rutgers TCC, CCTC, or related construction inspection certifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Asphalt, concrete, or utility inspection certifications
