**Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Civil Engineering SME** **to join our team! In this role, you'll have the privilege of working on the premier Infrastructure project in the Country, as well as receive all of the benefits of working for Parsons! This Program is the most Urgent infrastructure program in the country - a comprehensive set of rail investments that will improve commuter and intercity services, add needed resiliency and, in its later stages, create new capacity between Newark NJ and NYC.**
**Program background**
The Gateway Program is the most urgent infrastructure program in the country - a comprehensive set of rail investments that will improve commuter and intercity services, add needed resiliency and, in its later stages, create new capacity between Newark, New Jersey and New York City, the busiest section of the Northeast Corridor (NEC). The first phase of the Gateway Program includes the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP), which includes the construction of a new two-track tunnel under the Hudson River connecting to Penn Station New York as well as the full rehabilitation of the existing 110-year-old North River Tunnel. The Gateway Development Commission (GDC), established through bi-state legislation, is responsible for the financing and development of the Hudson Tunnel Project.
As a tri-venture partner with Parsons, Arcadis, and Mace (MPA) is the Delivery Partners (DP)to provide advice, leadership, and support to GDC for the development and implementation of HTP. This is a master service with task order contracts for a 15-year contract encompassing a broad range of strategic advisory services, project management, design management, construction management, stakeholder coordination, federal compliance, operations support, office administration, and related services.
**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a SME/Civil Lead to join our Gateway Tunnel Delivery Partner Team. This role, based in Newark, NJ, involves leading the technical design oversight of rail bridge and elevated track projects in the NY/NJ region.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Provide technical leadership and direction on rail bridge projects.
+ Ensure project quality and consistency.
+ Establish and maintain cooperative and productive relationships with employees, clients, and other stakeholders.
+ Demonstrate a commitment to quality and continuous improvement through innovation and creative thinking.
+ Perform technical oversight and review duties as Subject Matter Expert on rail structural elements including bridges and retaining walls.
**Qualifications & Skills:**
+ Minimum of 15 years of related work experience.
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis preferred, or a Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering. Master's degree preferred.
+ Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
+ Demonstrated extensive previous experience working in the structural design or design management of rail and transit and/or highway bridge projects with construction budgets over $100M.
+ Extensive experience in managing bridge rehabilitation and new bridge design projects, particularly in dense urban areas.
+ Technical expertise in bridge design and rehabilitation is essential.
+ Experience working with NJT, AMTRAK, NYCDOT, NYSDOT, TBTA, and PANYNJ preferred.
+ Freight Rail experience preferred.
+ Design-build experience preferred.
+ Ability to effectively interact with various clients and staff.
+ Adaptable to change and collaborative.

Salary Range: $167,400.00 - $314,500.00
