Location: Hawthorne, NJ

Pay Rate: $22–$43+ per hour, based on experience

Position Summary

The HVAC Service & Installation Technician will be responsible for installing, servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining commercial and residential HVAC systems. This position will support both new construction projects and existing facilities throughout New Jersey, ensuring HVAC equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and commission HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, rooftop units, ductless mini-splits, boilers, and ventilation equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical HVAC issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance on heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation specifications.
• Install and modify ductwork, refrigerant lines, controls, and ventilation systems.
• Test and inspect HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation following installation or repair.
• Diagnose airflow, electrical, refrigeration, and control-system issues.
• Maintain accurate service records and document completed work.
• Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and applicable building and HVAC codes.
• Provide professional and courteous service to customers and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Work independently or as part of a team on various job sites throughout New Jersey.

Qualifications

• Previous HVAC installation and service experience required.
• Strong knowledge of residential and/or commercial HVAC systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and control systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• EPA certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work safely, independently, and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift equipment and materials and work in various environments, including indoor, outdoor, and mechanical areas.
