Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Jersey
• BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience in acute or complex care settings
• At least 1 year of ICU or critical care experience highly desired
• Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills; experience with electronic health record (EHR) documentation preferred
• Ability to supervise and support LPNs, CNAs, and orientee staff — team leadership and delegation skills
• Travel nurse experience a plus but not required

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans for complex, long-term acute care patients
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly in the EHR to support continuity of care
• Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences and contribute to patient rehabilitation and care coordination plans
• Initiate and coordinate discharge planning and provide patient and family education from admission through discharge
• Communicate changes in patient status to physicians, advanced practice providers, and charge nurses to ensure timely interventions
• Supervise, delegate, and support ancillary nursing personnel (LPNs, CNAs), providing direction and mentorship as needed
• Promote and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to infection control and safety policies
• Contribute positively to the team environment and participate in unit-based team building and quality improvement activities
• Maintain professional growth through continuing education, certifications, and self-study in acute and critical care nursing
