The QC Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the laboratory, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of testing results. This role involves supervising laboratory personnel, maintaining quality control standards, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines, and assisting with administrative tasks including scheduling and inventory management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Supervise laboratory staff including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing guidance and training.
• Ensure that laboratory tests are performed accurately and efficiently in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines
• Maintain laboratory quality control and quality assurance programs.
• Collaborate with management to implement laboratory policies and procedures.
• Monitor inventory levels and order laboratory supplies and equipment as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment.
• Troubleshoot technical problems with laboratory equipment and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of laboratory activities, results, and incidents.
• Participate in audits and inspections; ensure readiness for regulatory reviews.
• Stay updated with new laboratory technologies and procedures.
• Evaluate OOS results and assist in determining acceptable deviations
• Work with the regulatory team on creating specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS/BA in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology or related Science Field
• Minimum of 3–5 years of laboratory experience with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Experience working in the dietary supplements, food, infant formula industry.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Strong Leadership and communication abilities
• Solid understanding of laboratory practices and safety regulations
• Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
• Knowledge of statistical tools
