Campus Aide

Campus Aide (26 - 27 SY)

The Community Charter School of Paterson is seeking Campus Aides to join our Middle School for the 2026-2027 School Year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs crossing guard duties as necessary.
• Monitors students at arrival and dismissal times.
• Monitors student movements during class transitions to ensure swift, safe, and efficient movement to maximize instructional time.
• Issues late passes.
• Monitors student behavior in the cafeteria during meals.
• Maintains a system for the orderly disposal of food waste and ensures the cleanliness of tables and surrounding areas.
• Circulates among the tables during the mealtime to be available to children who need help or to resolve any minor problems that arise.
• Monitors students during recess to ensure that students are safe interact with one another appropriately and are following all school rules.
• Informs assigned teacher or Dean of any serious infractions of discipline rules by students.
• Works with school personnel to assist with answering phones.
• Works with school personnel to ensure that school mailings are prepared professionally and are sent in a timely fashion.
• Works with school personnel to ensure that students board the bus in a timely and orderly manner.
• Works with school personnel to welcome and document visitors.
• Provides general maintenance as needed.
• Ensures school cleanliness and orderliness. Assists school and custodial staff with spills and other messes as needed.
• Provides building security as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year working with children or youth-serving organization.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Ability to keep accurate records and prepare reports.
• Available to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Highly organized and motivated, self-starter and ability to work independently.
