Job Overview:
The Scheduling Coordinator for the Interventional Radiology Special Procedures Department is responsible for operating the scheduling systems with proficiency to ensure timely coordination of cases and seamless communication between physicians, patients, and hospital departments. The Coordinator provides exceptional customer service, demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all scheduling and clerical functions. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a fast-paced office environment, preferably within a healthcare or hospital setting
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Demonstrated ability to provide professional and courteous customer service
Preferred:
- Experience in a radiology or interventional procedures environment
- Associate Degree
- Familiarity with hospital information systems, including PACS and RIS
- Working knowledge of scheduling software and electronic medical record systems
Scheduling Requirements:
- Working Shift: Monday – Friday
- Day Shift
- Full-Time, 40 Hours Per Week
Essential Functions:
- Operate the PACS and RIS systems proficiently to assist physicians and ensure proper routing and review of cases.
- Schedule and coordinate interventional radiology procedures accurately and efficiently.
- Provide timely communication with physicians, nursing staff, and other hospital departments to facilitate patient care.
- Answer and route telephone calls, respond to inquiries, and greet visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain accurate records, including filing, documentation, and procedure logs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure cases are reviewed and scheduled according to established protocols.
