Gastroenterology Physician
Location: Rahway, NJ
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Ongoing
Schedule: Monday Friday 8-Hour Day Shifts + Emergency On-Call
Setting: Inpatient Only
EMR: Epic
Support: Solo with access to Hospitalists and Intensivists (No APPs)
Daily Expectations:
- Daily rounding and consultations
- Average census: 5 10 patients/day
- Inpatient procedures
- Emergency call coverage required
- No clinic responsibilities
Required Procedures (May Include):
- ERCP (Diagnostic & Therapeutic)
- Diagnostic EGD
- Esophageal dilatation with guidewire
- Esophageal stent placement
- Argon Plasma Coagulator
- Snare Polypectomy
- Total Colonoscopy
- Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
- PEG placement
- Laser Endoscopy
- Paracentesis
- Pneumatic dilation of achalasia
- Video Capsule Endoscopy
- GI bleeding management (massive, acute, or non-variceal)
- Tumor ablation
- Ulcerative colitis and Crohn s Disease treatment
- Airway management (if ACLS certified and approved by Anesthesia Chair)
Requirements:
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology Required
- ACLS Certification Required
- Proficient in full range of inpatient GI procedures
- Must be comfortable working solo in a hospital-based setting
