Job Description

Perform production of Millwork and products. You will be responsible for moving, handling, and listing wood pieces and millwork to process through production. Responsibilities may include packing orders, building out crates, finishing work, sanding products down, and pushing boards.

Responsibilities

• Perform production tasks related to millwork and wood products, including moving, handling, and lifting wood pieces throughout the production process.
• Operate hand tools and basic production equipment to process boards and components safely and efficiently.
• Sand products and perform finishing work to meet visual and documented quality standards.
• Pack orders accurately and securely, including building out crates and pallets as needed for shipment.
• Assist with building pallets and preparing flooring or other wood products for delivery.
• Push boards and materials through various stages of production while maintaining a steady workflow.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while following established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Keep the work area safe, clean, and organized to support efficient production and reduce hazards.
• Evaluate finished product quality against visual and documented quality standards, and identify defects or issues.
• Comply with all company personal protective equipment (PPE) policies and safety rules at all times.
• Perform tool checks and basic preventive maintenance (PMs) on tools to ensure they remain in good working condition.
• Assist as a general laborer or plant helper in various areas of the facility as production needs change.
• Load and move materials within the plant to support ongoing production activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall production and operational goals of the facility.

Skills

• Experience working in a production, manufacturing, construction, carpentry, or general labor environment.
• Ability to safely use hand tools and basic production tools in a manufacturing setting.
• Capability to perform physical work, including lifting, moving, and handling wood pieces and millwork products.
• Ability to work independently with little direction while following established processes.
• Attention to detail to evaluate finished product quality against visual and documented standards.
• Commitment to following safety procedures and complying with PPE requirements.
• Reliability and strong work ethic in a fast-paced production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Exp as a production worker, general production worker, plant helper, or general laborer.
• Experience building pallets, crates, or working with flooring or other wood-based products.
• Comfort working in a manufacturing environment that may be loud and dusty in some areas.
• Willingness to perform a variety of tasks and support different areas of the plant as needed.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility where machines run throughout the day, and some areas can be loud and dusty. Safety glasses and gloves are provided, and employees must follow all safety and PPE guidelines. The warehouse is heated and operates on a schedule of 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch. There is a cafeteria onsite with a refrigerator and microwave available for employee use. The plant currently has around 43 employees and is growing to approximately 55. The dress code aligns with a typical manufacturing setting, including work pants or jeans, sweatshirts, and work boots (steel toe boots are recommended if available).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Egg Harbor City, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Egg Harbor City,NJ.
