About the Role:

The Security position within the Transportation and Warehousing industry is critical to ensuring the safety and protection of personnel, assets, and facilities across various operational sites. This role involves monitoring and controlling access to premises, conducting regular patrols, and responding promptly to any security incidents or emergencies. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining compliance with safety regulations and company policies, thereby minimizing risks and preventing loss or damage. Collaboration with law enforcement and emergency response teams is essential to effectively manage security threats and incidents. Ultimately, this position contributes to creating a secure environment that supports uninterrupted transportation and warehousing operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a security role, preferably within transportation, warehousing, or a related industry.
• Basic knowledge of security operations, emergency response, and safety protocols.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with transportation and warehousing industry standards and regulations.
  Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Additional certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP).

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and control access points to facilities, verifying credentials and authorizing entry.
• Conduct routine patrols of warehouses, loading docks, and transportation hubs to detect and deter suspicious activity.
• Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, including coordinating with emergency services when necessary.
• Maintain detailed logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and security breaches.
• Enforce company policies and safety regulations to ensure compliance and reduce risk.
• Operate and monitor surveillance equipment to oversee facility security.
• Assist in the development and implementation of security protocols and emergency response plans.
• Provide support and guidance to employees and visitors regarding security procedures.

The required skills enable the security professional to effectively monitor and protect transportation and warehousing facilities by utilizing surveillance equipment and conducting thorough patrols. Strong observational and situational awareness skills are essential for identifying potential threats and responding appropriately.
