Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, a community-focused hospital within RWJBarnabas Health, is seeking a Chairman of Anesthesiology to lead its anesthesia services in Lakewood, New Jersey. This role offers a rare leadership opportunity in a setting that runs more like a surgical center than a hospital--featuring low case volume, predictable hours, and minimal call-back burden.
With no OB, trauma, cardiac, or neurosurgery, and a commitment to serving the local population, this is the ideal position for an anesthesiologist who values clinical excellence, professional respect, and a sustainable lifestyle.

Practice Snapshot:
* 3-room operating suite
* 1 endoscopy suite (runs 2 days/week)
* Case types include:
o General surgery
o Urology
o Limited orthopedics
o Pediatric dental
* Low daily case volume
* Most OR days end before 4 PM
* No trauma, cardiac, neuro, or OB cases

What You'll Do:
Leadership:
* Oversee anesthesia operations, staffing, and scheduling
* Foster a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and community service
* Serve as a liaison between anesthesia staff and hospital leadership
* Lead recruitment and quality initiatives
Clinical:
* Provide direct anesthesia care in a low-acuity setting
* Supervise or work alongside CRNAs and physician colleagues
* Maintain a visible, supportive presence in the OR
Call:
* Light call rotation
* No acute care surgery--98%+ chance of not being called in
* Call functions mostly as standby coverage, not in-house service

Qualifications:
* M.D. or D.O.; Board Certified in Anesthesiology
* Eligible for NJ medical licensure
* 5+ years of clinical experience (leadership preferred)
