Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
Mindify Wellness and Care is seeking a highly skilled, compassionate, and patient-centered Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment services to our diverse client population.
The PMHNP will be an integral part of our collaborative care team, delivering evidence-based psychiatric care through medication management and, when appropriate, psychotherapy services. Work Location & Schedule
This position offers a flexible hybrid model with a combination of telehealth and onsite services.
- Providers may be required to travel to one of our adult day care centers we partner with throughout New Jersey for onsite patient sessions several days per week, based on patient needs and scheduling requirements.
- Multiple center locations are available throughout New Jersey.
- Onsite schedules are typically half-day sessions.
- Telehealth opportunities are available and encouraged as part of the provider's schedule.
- Flexible scheduling options available.
Key Responsibilities
Comprehensive Psychiatric Assessment & Diagnosis
- Conduct comprehensive initial psychiatric evaluations and ongoing assessments.
- Obtain psychiatric histories and perform mental status examinations.
- Conduct risk assessments and crisis evaluations.
- Formulate accurate diagnoses using DSM-5-TR criteria.
- Assess for co-occurring medical, behavioral health, and substance use conditions.
Treatment Planning & Medication Management
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
- Prescribe, manage, and monitor psychotropic medications.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies as appropriate.
- Modify treatment plans based on clinical outcomes and best practices.
Therapeutic Interventions
- Provide psychotherapy within scope of practice, including supportive therapy and other evidence-based modalities.
- Deliver psychoeducation to patients and families.
- Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services when necessary.
Collaboration & Coordination of Care
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, primary care providers, and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Participate in case reviews, clinical meetings, and care coordination efforts.
- Facilitate referrals and connect patients to appropriate community resources.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, payer requirements, and all applicable state and federal regulations.
- Adhere to ethical and professional nursing standards.
Professional Development & Quality Improvement
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and organizational growth efforts.
- Maintain all required continuing education and certifications.
- Stay current on advancements in psychiatric care, behavioral health treatment, and psychopharmacology.
Qualifications
Education
- Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program.
Licensure & Certification
- Active RN and APRN licenses in the State of New Jersey.
- Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).
- Active DEA registration with prescriptive authority.
Experience
- Minimum of 2–3 years of post-licensure PMHNP experience preferred.
- Experience working in outpatient behavioral health settings with diverse patient populations preferred.
- Experience providing telehealth services preferred.

Compensation
This is a Fee-for-Service position with compensation commensurate with experience, qualifications, and credentials.
- Initial Psychiatric Evaluations: $70–$80 per session
- Follow-Up Medication Management Visits: $50–$60 per session
Employment Structure & Growth Opportunities
All new providers begin with 1099 Independent Contractor status , allowing flexibility while becoming familiar with our patients, workflows, and clinical programs.
After a 90-day review period , providers may be considered for transition into a full-time or part-time W-2 position based on:
