Maintenance Mechanic

Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (2nd or 3rd Shift) Location: Northern New Jersey | Job Type: Full-time (Union)

Company Overview: Leading packaging manufacturer seeks an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for 2nd or 3rd Shift to repair manufacturing and utility equipment. Overtime required.

Job Responsibilities:

• Electromechanical Maintenance: Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and equipment; blending electrical and mechanical knowledge is an important part of this role. This involves working with robotics, automated systems, and advanced electromechanical assemblies.

• Safety Compliance: Committed to SAFETY. Follow guidelines, promote peer awareness, and adhere to procedures. Ensure maintained machines meet standards and guarantee operator safety.

• Operational Setup: Setup and run machinery to specifications. Mount and test parts to support production and ensure proper function.

• Troubleshooting: Inspect and troubleshoot equipment in real-time to minimize disruption.

• Diagnostics & Repair: Diagnose using predictive tools; repair/replace components. Install new parts and maintain plant mechanisms.

• Team Support: Provide technical support to team and end-users. Perform routine maintenance to eliminate downtime.

Required Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in reading technical diagrams and schematics.

• Sound knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.

• Experience with diagnostic tools, maintenance software, and CMMS.

• Experience with high-pressure hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated materials handling.

• Knowledge of VFDs and PLC Control logic troubleshooting (Allen Bradley, Siemens).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Electromechanical Technology degree, Associate's, or related.

• Relevant certification, license, or diploma.

• 2+ years experience in a similar role is paramount. Hands-on Electromechanics experience required.

Additional Information: Mechanics must participate in emergency call-ins. Must work OT, weekend OT, and Holiday OT as needed.

• Maintain & Repair: Install, maintain, and repair complex industrial machinery and electromechanical assemblies; utilizes a dual expertise in electrical and mechanical principles to service robotics and automated systems

• Ensure Safety: Follow safety protocols, promote awareness, and ensure all machinery meets industry safety standards.

• Setup & Test: Configure machinery to specifications, test new parts, and verify design functionality to support production.

• Troubleshoot: Inspect equipment in real-time to minimize disruption and use predictive tools to diagnose and fix issues.

• Support & Prevent: Provide technical support to the team and perform routine maintenance to eliminate system downtime.

The essential functions of this role include:
