JOB SUMMARY

The Lifestyle Coordinator supports the engagement enrichment and well-being of residents through the development and delivery of programs that promote social emotional intellectual spiritual and recreational fulfillment. Working under the guidance of the Lifestyle Manager and in collaboration with Resident Services and Wellness teams this role fosters a culture of lifelong learning connection and independence for all residents.

The Lifestyle Coordinator is responsible for planning implementing and evaluating a wide variety of programs and events that reflect resident interests and support Acacia Creeks commitment to Successful Aging throughout the community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Program Development & Implementation

  • Design and facilitate engaging lifestyle programs and large scale community events that promote creativity intellectual growth and strong sense of belonging coordinating with other departments to deliver a cohesive and enriching experience for residents and team members.
  • Partner with residents to design individualized and group programs that reflect their interests abilities and goals.
  • Conduct appraisals through TSOLife for new residents to assess lifestyle history identify preferences and establish participation goals.
  • Adapt programs for residents with low vision or hearing impairments adapting materials and approaches as needed.
  • Develop the monthly Lifestyle newsletter and calendar in collaboration with the Lifestyle and Wellness Director and Wellness Coordinator.
  • Lead or support group programs and off-campus excursions that promote engagement and independence.
  • Complete event requests ensuring logistical details and necessary supplies are coordinated.

Resident Wellness Support

  • Conduct wellness assessments for new and existing residents to create individualized wellness plans. Create annual goals and check in process. Adapt as needed and integrate with service plans as appropriate.
  • Track and monitor residents participation and progress in wellness programs.
  • Support fall risk reduction initiatives by collaborating with resident services and therapy teams.
  • Encourage and motivate residents to adopt healthier lifestyle practices while respecting individual choices limitations and abilities.
  • Serve as a wellness advocate and resource for residents team members and families.

Community Collaboration & Culture

  • Collaborate with the Wellness Coordinator to ensure wellness programs and lifestyle programs align with community and monthly event calendar.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care team meetings as needed and departmental meetings to ensure programming aligns with resident needs and community goals.
  • Support campus-wide initiatives special events and interdepartmental collaborations that promote engagement and well-being.

Administrative & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate records of resident participation and program outcomes in TSOLife as needed and appropriate.
  • Track inventory and communicate supply needs to the Lifestyle and Wellness Director.
  • Maintain clean organized and safe program areas and ensure all safety procedures and Universal Precautions are followed.
  • Track and report program outcomes and resident engagement to identify trends measure effectiveness and support continued improvement.
  • Attend trainings workshops and in-services to stay current with best practices in recreation engagement and aging services.

Resident & Family Engagement

  • Communicate lifestyles program and event offerings via monthly calendars newsletters flyers announcements digital signage and resident meetings.
  • Encourage family involvement in wellness events to foster community connection.

Requirements

SKILLS ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

  • Two years of experience in social or recreational programming; at least one year in a senior living or geriatric setting preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to connect with residents families and team members.
  • Creative energetic and compassionate approach to program development and resident engagement.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan prioritize and work independently.
  • Passionate about fostering growth confidence and joy in older adults.
  • Flexible and adaptable with a willingness to work occasional evenings weekends and holidays.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATES

  • Any combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge and abilities listed typically:
  • College coursework in recreation therapy gerontology psychology social work or a related field preferred.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
  • Valid Class C drivers license required.

  • Hearing Requires the ability to hear at close proximity (0-5 feet) requires the ability
  • to hear at a distance (up to 20 feet) and the ability to hear in both ears.
  • Vision Requires clarity of vision at 20 inches or less clarity of vision at 20 feet or more
