Job Overview:
Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center is currently looking for a new Sterile Processing Educator in Livingston, NJ.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent- required
- Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred;
- 5-10 years experience in Sterile Processing;
- Certified SPD management level experience or equivalent in training and development;
- Knowledge of quality standards and improvements performance techniques and tools, experienced in developing and implementing policies and procedures,
- Must be currently certified in Sterile Processing;
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for Orientation of new staff members as well as helping and facilitating new hire training,
- This role will be responsible for all competencies initial and ongoing as well as creating ongoing list of due dates for such,
- This incumbent is pivotal in the education of the OR Leadership, CSP staff and CSP Leadership on all regulatory standards, recommendations and compliance,
- This includes documented periodic compliance surveys in the OR, CSP and all units that CSP services,
- This role will help in the development and revisions of policies, procedures and best practices in compliance with industry standards,
- Identifies on an ongoing basis any quality concerns within CSP and provides re-education as well as needed process improvements,
- This role will work with the Director in creating and then maintaining yearly modules specifically related to CSP,
- The CSP educator will be involved in all tracking system upgrades, inputting of new processes in said system, data maintenance, tray inventory and end of life items tracking,
- This will include creating reports in tracking system for quality metrics and coordination with the Instrument coordinator on missing instrument reports
