Payroll Manager
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Payroll Manager in Newark, DE. Responsibilities: Payroll Processing:
- Manage and supervise the processing of weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for all employees
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions
- Review and resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee inquiries regarding payroll matters
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws, including tax filing, wage and hour laws, and garnishments
- Prepare and file payroll tax reports, including quarterly and annual filings (e.g., 941, state filings, W-2s, etc.)
- Maintain and update knowledge of payroll best practices, tax changes, and legal requirements
- Manage and train the payroll team, providing guidance, support, and ensuring best practices are followed
- Conduct regular performance reviews and facilitate team development
- Oversee the administration and maintenance of payroll software/systems
- Troubleshoot any issues related to payroll processing systems and resolve them in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, including employee pay history, deductions, and benefits
- Ensure proper filing of payroll-related documents for auditing purposes and compliance
- Act as the point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees, managers, and other departments
- Communicate effectively with employees regarding payroll changes, deductions, and benefits
- Perform regular payroll audits and reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and address discrepancies
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and reports
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in payroll management, including supervisory experience
- Proven experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday, etc.)
