BAS Controls Technician

Building Automation Systems- Controls – BAS – HVAC

We are actively seeking an experienced Building Automation Systems (BAS) Controls Technician to support field operations, service, and commissioning of commercial and industrial BAS/HVAC control systems. This is a field-based role for a hands-on technician who enjoys solving problems, working with control systems, and delivering high-quality technical support to customers. Service area is Central & Northern New Jersey.

Responsibilities

• Perform field service, startup, and troubleshooting of BAS/HVAC control systems
• Use Niagara Workbench to configure, program, and commission BAS platforms
• Program controllers using Johnson Controls CCT software
• Create and modify BAS graphics/UI dashboards for end-user interfaces
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to control logic, communication networks, sensors, actuators, and field devices
• Install, test, and calibrate BAS components as needed
• Work directly with customers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless integration and system performance
• Document work performed, update sequences, and provide recommendations for system improvements

Qualifications

• Three (3) or more years of hands-on BAS controls experience, ideally in field service or commissioning
• Proficiency with Niagara Workbench (N4 preferred)
• Working knowledge of Johnson Controls CCT programming
• Experience in graphics creation and BAS programming
• Strong troubleshooting skills across HVAC controls, networking, and field devices
• Ability to read and interpret HVAC drawings, wiring diagrams, and control sequences
• Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving abilities
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to work in the field daily
