Position Overview
The Director of Events is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of all events, programs, and activities for the Monmouth Ocean Regional REALTORS®. This includes major association functions, committee events, conferences, awards ceremonies, trade expos, and community engagement initiatives.
The Director of Events ensures that all programs strengthen member engagement, promote the value of membership, and reflect the professionalism and mission of the REALTOR® organization. The role requires strong leadership, creativity, and logistical expertise to deliver high-impact events that align with association goals and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Event Planning & Execution
- Develop and oversee the annual events calendar encompassing association-wide events, committee-led programs, education and special initiatives.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute large-scale events including annual membership meetings, leadership installations, award galas, affiliate expos, and conferences.
- Support the scheduling and execution of committee events such as Member Engagement, YPN, Managers, RPAC as well as Member and Community Outreach functions.
- Lead all aspects of event production — venue selection, budgeting, vendor negotiation, catering, technology, décor, staffing, and logistics.
- Manage event registration systems, attendance tracking, and on-site operations to ensure a seamless experience for members and guests.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, insurance, and safety requirements.
Committee Collaboration
- Serve as staff liaison to key committees involved in events, education, or member engagement.
- Provide logistical and administrative support to committee chairs and members in planning and executing their events and initiatives.
- Work with volunteer leadership to identify innovative programming ideas that enhance member participation and community presence.
- Facilitate communication between committees and association leadership to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
Sponsorship, Partnerships & Revenue Growth
- Design and implement sponsorship packages and partnership opportunities for Affiliate members and local businesses.
- Proactively solicit sponsors and manage sponsor relationships, ensuring benefit delivery and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the Operations/Finance to track sponsorship revenue and develop new revenue-generating opportunities through events.
Marketing, Promotion & Communications
- Partner with the Communications department to create and implement comprehensive event promotion plans across digital, print, and social media channels.
- Contribute content for newsletters, social media, and web pages highlighting upcoming programs and post-event recaps.
- Conduct post-event evaluations and surveys to assess member satisfaction, ROI, and areas for improvement.
Budgeting & Administration
- Maintain detailed financial records, monitor expenses, and ensure cost-effective event operations.
- Oversee contract negotiations with venues, vendors, and service providers to maximize value and efficiency.
Member & Community Engagement
- Serve as the face of the association at events, fostering positive relationships with members, volunteers, and community partners.
- Champion a culture of hospitality and inclusion across all programs and events.
- Support association outreach efforts including charitable and civic engagement programs.
- Represent the association professionally at regional and state REALTOR® meetings, conferences, and industry functions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in event planning or association management, preferably within a large membership or nonprofit organization.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale events and working with volunteer committees.
- Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and leadership skills with attention to detail.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and event management platforms (Eventbrite, Cvent, etc.).
- Familiarity with REALTOR® association structure and the real estate industry is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of NJ gaming laws and Political Action Committee rules
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for events.

Physical & Schedule Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and manage event setup materials.
- Must be available for flexible scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends.
