Mobile Industrial Maintenance Mechanic – East Rutherford, NJ (35-mile radius required)

Field-based, hands-on, always moving. This role is for a Mobile Industrial Maintenance Mechanic supporting multiple industrial sites across Northern New Jersey and parts of Upstate New York. You’ll be the go-to tech in the field—inspecting, troubleshooting, and keeping critical building systems running without disruption.

Company vehicle and tools provided. You’ll operate out of East Rutherford but spend your time in the field across assigned properties.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM start, 8-hour shifts
On-call availability required for after-hours issues and emergencies

What You’ll Be Doing

You’re not sitting in a shop—you’re out in the field keeping facilities alive.

You’ll perform scheduled inspections on industrial buildings and systems including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and exterior/site conditions. You’ll catch issues early, fix what you can on the spot, and escalate what needs attention.

Day-to-day includes:

• Walking sites and documenting building conditions (cleanliness, lighting, signage, landscaping, parking, fencing, roofing, etc.)

• Performing vacancy upkeep (trash removal, pressure washing, ceiling tile replacement, restroom upkeep, HVAC setpoints, basic cleaning tasks)

• Responding to tenant service calls (plumbing, electrical, lighting, safety issues, general maintenance)

• Completing inspection reports and updating work orders when required

• Supporting fire/life safety checks and basic building system monitoring (generators, alarm panels, etc.)

• Handling light repairs: painting, minor carpentry, basic locksmith work, and general fixes

• Responding to emergencies during and outside normal hours when needed

What You Bring

• 2–3 years of industrial or commercial maintenance experience
• EPA Universal

• Hands-on knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing basics

• Fire/life safety system exposure is a plus

• Comfortable working independently in the field across multiple sites

• Strong mechanical aptitude and solid troubleshooting skills

• Able to use basic tech (laptop/iPad, work order systems)

• Valid driver’s license with clean record (driving company vehicle)

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred
