Estimator - Heavy Civil

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Estimator for our Heavy Civil team who will play a crucial role in the preparation of detailed cost estimates for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and experience with various aspects of heavy construction, including excavation, underground utilities, bridges, and roadworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects
• Analyze project plans and specifications to determine project requirements
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to assess project feasibility and costs
• Conduct site visits to gather information for accurate estimating
• Review and compare bids from subcontractors and suppliers
• Prepare and present bid proposals to clients
• Monitor project costs and provide updates throughout the construction process
• Maintain organized records of estimates and project documents

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Estimator in heavy civil construction
• Proficient in estimating software and tools
• Strong knowledge of excavation, underground utilities, pipe, roads, sewer, water, stormwater, gas, bridges, and site work
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
