The Assistant Arcade Director supports the daily operations of Lucky Snake Arcade & Raceway, the largest arcade on the East Coast. This leadership role is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences, driving operational excellence, developing team members, maximizing revenue, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, maintenance, and presentation throughout the facility.
The Assistant Arcade Director serves as a key operational leader, helping oversee arcade operations, redemption, attractions, inventory, staffing, financial performance, and special events while maintaining a fun, family-friendly environment.
Job Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
- Assist the Arcade Director in managing all daily arcade and attraction operations.
- Lead managers, supervisors, and frontline team members to ensure exceptional guest service.
- Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) in the absence of the Arcade Director.
- Monitor daily operations and quickly resolve operational challenges.
- Maintain operational standards, cleanliness, and visual presentation throughout the facility.
Team Development
- Recruit, interview, onboard, train, and mentor supervisors and team members.
- Conduct performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Create employee schedules that align with business demand and labor goals.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance work culture.
Guest Experience
- Ensure every guest receives outstanding customer service.
- Resolve escalated guest concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and implement improvements to enhance the overall experience.
- Support birthday parties, corporate events, and special promotions.
Financial & Business Performance
- Assist in managing departmental budgets, labor costs, and operating expenses.
- Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports and key performance indicators.
- Oversee cash controls, redemption inventory, and prize cost management.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue through promotions, merchandising, and operational improvements.
Inventory & Vendor Management
- Manage inventory levels for redemption merchandise, crane prizes, arcade supplies, and operational materials.
- Coordinate purchasing with approved vendors to maintain adequate inventory.
- Perform inventory counts and ensure accurate reporting and loss prevention practices.
- Maintenance & Safety
- Partner with the Technical Services team to ensure all arcade games and attractions remain in optimal operating condition.
- Conduct routine facility inspections to identify maintenance or safety concerns.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA guidelines, company safety policies, and local regulations.
- Maintain emergency preparedness and incident reporting procedures.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Prepare operational reports, staffing reports, and financial summaries.
- Utilize Microsoft Office, point-of-sale systems, scheduling software, and reporting tools.
- Maintain accurate records related to staffing, inventory, maintenance, and operational performance.
Other Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of management experience in a family entertainment center (FEC), arcade, amusement park, hospitality, attractions, or high-volume entertainment venue.
- Previous experience supervising multiple departments or large teams preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience with budgeting, inventory management, labor scheduling, and financial reporting.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and business reporting software.
- Knowledge of amusement operations, redemption systems, and guest service best practices is highly desirable.
