Product Engineer

Job Title: Product Engineer
Location: Somerset, New Jersey
Type: Contract To Hire
Compensation: $28- $36/hour
Hours: 8 AM- 5 PM or 9 AM- 6 PM (some flex) M-F

• Design, develop, and manufacture of battery electrodes (primarily composed of active material, conducting carbon and binder)
• Characterize powders, films, and dispersions to ensure quality and performance standards
• Work with traditional battery materials as well as new active materials under development for future commercialization

• BS/MS in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Materials Science and Engineering
• Hands-on experience with advanced materials—powder, dispersion/slurry, coating—is essential
• Reasonable prior experience working with battery electrodes; candidates with related experience in material science or chemical engineering are encouraged (training available)
• Minimum 2 to 5 years of industrial experience in the chemical or materials industry preferred, but recent MS grads or BS candidates with up to a year of experience will be considered
• Knowledge of Wet or Solid state chemistry
• Experience in using standard laboratory equipment
• Knowledge and experience in characterizing powders, films, and dispersions is a plus
