What You’ll Do

  • Lead with purpose: Oversee financial operations of Christ Church, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and faithful stewardship across every ministry.
  • Guide with excellence: Manage budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes to provide clear, strategic insight that supports wise decision-making.
  • Develop leaders: Mentor and equip accounting staff and volunteers, building a culture of collaboration, growth, and shared commitment to the mission.
  • Plan & manage systems: Maintain strong financial policies, procedures, and internal controls that promote transparency, efficiency, and accountability.
  • Collaborate across ministries: Partner with pastors, directors, and ministry leaders to align financial planning with vision, goals, and impact.
  • Support generosity: Oversee giving records, audits, and reporting to ensure donor trust and demonstrate faithful stewardship of every gift.
  • Organize for the future: Provide strategic financial guidance and long-term planning to support sustainable growth and lasting ministry impact.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an Accounting Director — a strategic, detail-oriented leader who brings excellence, integrity, and stewardship to every financial decision. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in accounting, financial management, or related leadership roles
  • Proficiency in GAAP, Excel, and accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics a plus)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

· Clear Communication: You’re skilled in translating complex financial concepts into clear, actionable insights that foster collaboration and understanding across teams.

· Operational Management: You have the ability to oversee budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance with precision—keeping financial systems efficient, accurate, and aligned.

· Organization & Focus: You’re equipped to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting key deadlines.

· Problem Solving: You approach challenges with composure and creativity—offering practical, well-reasoned solutions that keep progress moving forward.

· Continuous Improvement: You excel in the ability to identify opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen systems, and enhance overall financial performance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification or equivalent professional credential
  • Experience managing nonprofit or church finances
  • Familiarity with fund accounting and audit preparation
