Palliative Physician Assistant Job in Newark, NJ Area

The Physician Assistant provides medical services to patients of all ages under the direction of a physician; collects and documents patient data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and provides professional consultations and direct patient care services. The Physician Assistant works in all specialty and primary care areas, diagnosing and treating common illnesses and performing minor procedures. Minimum Requirements: + Physician's Assistant Certificate of Registration or License from the New Jersey state Medical Board + Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred; may be required by state regulations or contract specifications. + Current and unrestricted DEA + Ability to work without direct supervision and practice autonomously + Must possess reliable transportation and the ability to travel within the designated region to meet patient needs including in-home and clinic visits as needed + Must be willing to become licensed in multiple states as needed + 2+ years working with patients in a palliative care setting required; other relevant experience will be considered + Prefer to have ACHPN or CHPN certificate + BLS certified required + TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable + Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age
