Land Survey - Crew Chief

We are currently seeking an experienced Crew Chief to join Control Point Associates on a long-term project with a government agency supporting NY and NJ reporting to Newark, NJ daily. Essential Functions:

• Ability to work *overnight projects when necessary (10 pm to 6:30 am) for extended periods of time. Regular hours are 6 am to 2:30 pm.
• All hours worked on the overnight shift are paid at time and a half
• Get OSHA 10/40 Certification; TWIC and SWAC – this is a requirement for the government agency.
• Must pass initial drug screening including random drug screenings thereafter.
• Carefully and diligently perform all phases of field surveying including; Construction Stakeout, Topographical Surveys, Preliminary Boundary Analysis/Stake Out, and As-Built surveys while utilizing tools like Trimble/Leica/Spectre robotic total stations, data collectors, auto-levels, GPS RTK Units, wireless communications, 3D Laser Scanners, etc.
• Conduct field calculations and sketches; downloading and checking data while being held accountable to accuracy of all survey documents.
• Maintain and take care of all company equipment and vehicles and ensuring setup is in a secure environment with proper safety precautions in place.
• Self-organize and motivate when working alone and supervise and motivate instrument operators when assigned.
• Positively represent the brand while communicating professionally and regularly with customers on site.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated successful, reliable surveying experience in a managerial role.
• High School Diploma and strong math and computer skills.
• The ability and desire to expand your skillsets and adapt to new technologies.
• Highly proficient field coding to be used for field to finish auto linework.
• Ability to complete additional certificates, (OSHA (10, 30, 40, etc.), Hazwoper, TWIC, etc.)
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work overtime as needed and travel with overnight stays if required.
• Flexible availability to accommodate overnight projects

Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for 8+ hours a day. Exposure to all weather conditions: hot, cold, wet, humid, or other conditions caused by weather. The Instrument Operator will work in the field with the survey crew. Field work is often performed on busy streets or construction sites. Loud noise may be experienced at times.
