Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Programmer & Production Scheduler to support steel plate processing operations. This role is responsible for creating CAD drawings for customer orders and scheduling production work based on lead times and plant capacity. The position requires close collaboration with production supervisors, quality control personnel, and the sales team to ensure accurate order processing and on-time delivery.



Key Responsibilities:

• Program cut parts for steel plate processing orders using customer-provided drawings or approved drawings based on customer specifications
• Communicate with sales leadership and sales representatives to clarify customer drawing requirements; confirm all details and obtain proper documentation
• Schedule burning, grinding, and other value-added processing work orders
• Review customer orders daily (and multiple times per day as needed) to ensure timely production and delivery
• Prioritize orders to align with customer demand and satisfaction goals
• Follow all quality control (QC) policies and procedures
• Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of QC processes as needed
• Participate in material sales support as required
• Perform other duties as assigned by the CAD Programmer & Production Scheduler role

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional phone etiquette
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Experience with DraftSight, ProNest, or PrimeCut preferred

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associate degree or equivalent preferred
• Prior CAD programming experience preferred

Expectations:

• Maintain familiarity with internal forms, documents, reports, and workflow processes from quoting through billing
• Communicate pertinent job-related information to supervisors daily
• Demonstrate forward-thinking problem solving with a focus on quality, customer service, and continuous improvement
• Identify efficiencies, cost-saving opportunities, and productivity improvements
• Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with safety policies
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Report accidents, incidents, near misses, or hazardous conditions promptly
• Perform all assigned duties as required within the CAD Programmer & Production Scheduler position
