Position Summary:
The General Manager (GM) is responsible for the overall success of the restaurant, ensuring that operations run smoothly, efficiently, and profitably while upholding the restaurant’s standards of hospitality, food quality, cleanliness, and team culture. The GM is both a leader and hands-on operator, setting the tone for the guest experience, team morale, and business performance.
Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Staff Development
- Hire, train, and develop a high-performing front- and back-of-house team
- Lead by example in professionalism, hospitality, and work ethic
- Conduct regular staff meetings, one-on-ones, and performance evaluations
- Coach, mentor, and hold team members accountable to standards
Service & Guest Experience
- Maintain a consistently exceptional guest experience through service oversight and floor presence
- Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally
- Set and enforce service standards, pacing, and flow of the dining room
Operational Excellence
- Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, scheduling, and shift execution
- Collaborate with kitchen and bar managers to ensure alignment between service and production
- Ensure all health, safety, sanitation, and compliance requirements are met
Financial Management
- Manage labor, food, and beverage costs to meet budget targets
- Prepare and analyze weekly/monthly financial reports
- Oversee payroll systems and processes
- Oversee inventory systems and vendor relationships
Culture & Brand Integrity
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace
- Uphold and represent the values and identity of the restaurant
- Encourage feedback, continuous improvement, and a solutions-oriented culture
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a restaurant general manager or senior leadership role
- Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills
- Proven experience managing budgets, costs, and staff performance
- Familiarity with restaurant POS and scheduling software (e.g., Toast, 7shifts, etc.)
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
- Commitment to hospitality and operational excellence
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Requires open availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Fast-paced restaurant environment; standing, walking, and lifting up to 40 lbs required
