As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Visitor Registration Coordinator in Wayne, NJ , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.21 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or guests by carrying out site-specific procedures and applicable emergency response activities at a higher education location.
• Monitor access at the front desk, verify visitor credentials as directed, maintain visitor logs, and communicate entry requirements to support a welcoming campus environment.
• Respond to incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate campus contacts and/or emergency responders when needed.
• Answer phones, provide directions and general information, receive deliveries as applicable, and maintain clear, accurate records of front-desk and security-related activities.
• Help to deter unauthorized access and report unusual activity, policy concerns, and facility issues to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
