PIT Operator

Staff Management Group is seeking a PIT Operator for our client in Carlstadt, NJ. Please read the ENTIRE job description and ALL of the job requirements BEFORE applying for this position.

Schedule:

• 3rd Shift: 11PM - 7:30PM
• Plus Overtime

Pay Rate:

• $21 / hour 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable PIT Operator to operate industrial trucks, standup and sit-down forklifts, to load and unload trailers to, then, distribute and store materials.

Job Responsibilities:

• Move materials to and from production lines, loading docks, trailers, and designated storage areas
• Review daily work orders, production schedules, and shipping requests to complete tasks accurately
• Understand load capacities and equipment limits to ensure safe and efficient material movement
• Secure loads, wrap pallets, and prepare materials for safe transportation within the facility
• Inspect materials during handling and report discrepancies, damages, or equipment concerns immediately
• Operate forklifts and PIT equipment in full compliance with safety procedures and training standards
• Perform basic checks and minor servicing on PIT equipment; notify supervisors of required maintenance
• Update logs, inventory systems, and scanner entries to maintain accurate material tracking
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment at all times
• Support additional warehouse tasks and operational needs as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• MUST be bilingual - English AND Spanish.
• Valid forklift certification with a minimum of 3 years of PIT/Reach Truck & Cherry Picker also known as Order picker
• Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs and safely operating warehouse equipment
• Comfortable using handheld scanners and basic computer systems
• Strong multitasking ability, high attention to detail, and dependable work ethic
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced warehouse
