The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Performs all duties of scheduling appointments, answering telephones, entering all information into the computer. Communicates effectively with other areas of the department, hospital and physician offices to coordinate patient activities. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas and medical errors, etc.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma
• Minimum one-year prior radiology/medical experience in a health care facility

Scheduling Requirements:

• Day- 7:00am-3:00pm
• As needed including weekend/ holiday; Flexible

Essential Functions :

• Ensures accurate and complete data collections of all patient demographic and procedural information including patient authorization and referral requirements are addressed during scheduling process
• Ensures communication with patients and family members is conducted professionally
• Ensures new physicians are loaded to data base accurately and completely
• Ensure proper protocols and followed for the release of CDs and Reports
• Ensure proper utilization of the scheduling system in EPIC, Image retrieval in PACs , various information systems and programs for Radiology data as needed
• Ensure holding area patient are checked in and out,
• Ensure patients are in a safe environment, respond to patient requests as possible, while they are waiting for transport or testing
• Identify area of improvement in work processes, protocols, and work with other areas to implement changes and measure results
• Monitor phone system to ensure calls are handled promptly, manage work schedules, time off, etc , to minimize disruptions to operations
• Organizes assignments, reviews work, and evaluates performance of all clerical staff
• Oversee and complete all legal correspondence requests are responded to promptly and accurately
• Oversee and performs scheduling and check in procedures for radiology procedures
• Performs required Kronos operations for proper staff payroll,
• Print films and CDs as requested by patients and physicians
• Provide in service and training for clerical staff and conducts team meetings
• Schedules proper coverage for reception, scheduling and clerical staff
• Uses sound employee relations practices and maintains high level of visibility and accessible
