About the Role

The Clinical Director of Adult Services provides strategic clinical leadership, operational oversight, and program development for Alpine Learning Group's Adult Services for both our day and community supports program. The Clinical Director ensures that services are person-centered, evidence-based, and fully compliant with DDD, state, and federal regulations while fostering a culture of clinical excellence, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Working closely with participants, families, caregivers, and team members, this leader helps develop individualized life plans that promote independence, community participation, meaningful relationships, and quality of life.

This leader partners closely with executive leadership to expand community opportunities, strengthen employment initiatives, enhance participant outcomes, and develop the next generation of clinical leaders dedicated to adults with autism.

This position reports directly to the Executive Director of Autism Services and the Chief Executive Officer of Alpine Learning Group, Inc.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

  • Provide overall clinical leadership for Adult Services.
  • Ensure individualized supports align with each participant's Individualized Service Plan (ISP).
  • Promote person-centered, evidence-based programming across all services.
  • Review and approve treatment plans, behavior support plans, and clinical programming.
  • Monitor program quality and participant outcomes while implementing continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with DDD standards, regulations, licensing requirements, and accreditation expectations.
  • Lead audit preparation, regulatory reviews, and corrective action planning.
  • Build collaborative relationships with caregivers to support continuity of care, shared decision-making, and long-term planning across home, community, employment, and adult service settings.
  • Ensure approved policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe and regulatory compliant learning environment both on campus and in the community.

Staff Leadership & Development

  • Supervise, mentor, coach, and evaluate Clinical Supervisors and Director Support Professionals.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, compassion, and professional growth.
  • Develop and deliver ongoing staff training and leadership development.
  • Complete audit and monitoring strategies to ensure staff consistently implement participant ISPs, health and safety procedures, behavior support plans, and individualized life planning goals.
  • Model best practices in Applied Behavior Analysis, person-centered supports, and family-centered collaboration.
  • Facilitate department meetings and clinical case reviews.
  • Provide operational support during staffing shortages when needed.
  • Partner with Executive Leadership and Human Resources to recruit, hire, and retain exceptional staff.

Community & Employment Partnerships

  • Expand meaningful employment, volunteer, recreation, educational, and community engagement opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with employers, businesses, volunteer organizations, and community partners.
  • Collaborate with participants, caregivers, and families to identify meaningful opportunities that align with each individual's interests, strengths, and long-term life goals.
  • Visit employment and volunteer sites to ensure high-quality supports.
  • Build partnerships that promote inclusion, belonging, and meaningful adult outcomes.

Program Operations

  • Oversee daily clinical and program operations.
  • Ensure high-quality learning, employment, and community environments for participants.
  • Maintain compliance with DDD and all regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with budgeting and resource planning for participant services.
  • Collaborate across departments to support successful transitions into Adult Services.
  • Promote innovative programming that enhances independence, community participation, lifelong learning, and quality of life.

Professional Leadership

  • Maintain BCBA certification and professional credentials.
  • Stay current with emerging research and best practices through continuing education.
  • Chair the Behavior Management Committee.
  • Chair the Jobs Committee.
  • Participate in Human Rights Committee meetings.
  • Represent Alpine Learning Group through professional collaborations, conferences, and community partnerships.

Qualifications

Required

  • Master's Degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or related field.
  • Current BCBA certification preferred; candidates actively pursuing BCBA certification (to be completed within one year) will also be considered.
  • Minimum of five years of leadership experience supporting individuals with autism.
  • Extensive experience with Applied Behavior Analysis.
  • Knowledge of New Jersey DDD regulations and adult service requirements.
  • Demonstrated success supervising multidisciplinary clinical teams.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative, innovative thinker with a passion for developing adult programming.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Compassionate, engaging, and relationship-focused leadership style.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative partnerships with participants, families, caregivers, community partners, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Appreciation for the unique needs, strengths, aspirations, and quality of life of individuals with severe and profound autism.
