Job Title: Medical Assistant - Orthopedic Sports Medicine

Job Description

Join our team as a Medical Assistant in a dynamic sports medicine office, where you will provide compassionate care to patients while supporting back-office functions. Your role involves updating patient information, performing vital checks, preparing patient rooms, and managing electronic medical records using EPIC. This is an opportunity to work closely with healthcare professionals in a high-paced environment, ensuring efficient patient flow and excellent care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to patients and support back-office functions.
• Update patient information, including family histories and previous visit notes.
• Perform patient intakes, room loading, and vital checks.
• Conduct medication reconciliation and prepare charts prior to patient visits.
• Complete prior authorizations and restock rooms and supply closets.
• Manage inventory and triage phone calls for physician or patient questions.
• Update electronic medical records using EPIC.
• Work comfortably in a fast-paced sports medicine practice, dealing with a variety of patient injuries and conditions.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 1 year of medical assistant experience.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required with an accredited diploma from a medical assistant school.
• Proficiency in EMR systems, particularly EPIC.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced sports medicine environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in pediatric patient care.
• Familiarity with sports medicine injuries and rehabilitation processes.
• Adaptability to work with varying physician personalities and paces.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Somerville, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $28.00/hr.
