When childhood friends Holly and Shawn stepped away from their corporate careers and started Rook Coffee in 2010, they wanted to make people feel special. Since the beginning, in a 300-square-foot shack, Rook has focused on offering specialty coffees that inspire genuine, human connections.

Pay Range: $22-$26/hr including tips .
Our Store Manager in Training (MIT) assists the store manager with running the daily operations of the store while learning how to independently operate a Rook Coffee location.

- Assist in creating and maintaining a welcoming and fair work environment for customers and team members.
- Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, and retention of top talent.
- Partner with the store manager to ensure the ongoing training and development of the store team with the goal of continuous improvement and individual growth.
- Learn all store functions, including customer service, team leadership, inventory, cash management and vendor relationships.
- Maintain high standards for food and workplace safety.
- Work closely and communicating with the area managers as well as various store support partners.
- Drive customer service/customer engagement by training the team on Rook’s GRINDS service model.
- Learn how to make data-driven decisions around ordering supplies and coffee to ensure the freshest product is always available to our customers.
- Drive top-line revenue by focusing on customer retention, product availability and world-class execution.
- Work in tandem with the store manager to execute all company initiatives, including product launches and marketing directives.
- Open availability including nights, weekends and holidays
- A genuine interest in becoming a store manager at Rook Coffee
- A willingness to travel to any Rook Coffee location
- A Positive mental attitude and outlook on life. A friendly and genuine personality is a must!
- Experience in a supervisory role in a food or retail establishment for a minimum of six months, with proven and consistent results.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- The ability to function as part of a cohesive team
- Strong interpersonal skills
- The ability to lift or move a minimum of 45 lbs
- The ability to remain calm and organized during peak, high-intensity business hours
- The ability to stand for an extended period of time
