The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The MRI Aide will be fully trained in Level 2 MRI safety so that he/she can effectively screen patients, and other individuals, before entering Zones 3 and 4 of the MRI suite.

The MRI Aide will assist the technologist with patient flow, both inpatient and outpatient, and may be asked to transport patients to and from the MRI department. The MRI Aide will also assist with tasks when obtaining clearance for patients with medical implants, and with other department functions to better streamline daily operations.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

• Prior healthcare experience

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

• Shift working, Monday-Friday 10am-2pm
• Part-Time (PT)

Essential Functions:

• Becomes trained and familiar with all aspects of MRI safety and achieves a level 2 designation
• Assists with optimizing patient flow between exams by moving patients, placing patients on stretchers and exam table, performing safety screenings, scanning individuals with metal detector, advising patients of wait times and giving instructions, and following other general operational instructions given by technologists
• Retrieves and stocks supplies within the MRI department
• Replenishes linens and gowns for use in MRI
• Transport the patient by bed, stretcher, or wheelchair when needed
• Uses only MRI compatible transport equipment when entering Zone 4
• Scans forms and other paperwork into Epic
• Assists with making phone calls, sending faxes, and retrieving information related to clearing patients with MRI conditional implants and coordinating the exam with the appropriate personnel
• Place phone calls to coordinate care with anesthesia, critical care nurses and/or pacemaker vendors
