Job Summary
The AML Project Manager V will serve as a key leader in a major Anti-Money Laundering (AML) initiative , supporting the implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of AML typologies, data governance, and transaction monitoring models. This position operates at the intersection of business, data, and technology , ensuring the bank’s compliance with AML regulations while optimizing transaction monitoring capabilities.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to work with a highly skilled team on a regulatory lookback transaction project within one of North America’s top 10 banks.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support AML transaction monitoring initiatives across multiple platforms (e.g., Oracle, Actimize, SAS).
Design, build, and maintain transaction monitoring models leveraging account and customer data across financial products.
Coordinate between technology and data teams on scenario tuning, defect management, and system integration .
Ensure data workflows from ingestion to reporting are optimized to enhance detection accuracy and minimize false positives .
Deliver advanced analytical insights and present findings to executive stakeholders .
Drive collaboration between Transaction Monitoring, IT, and Data teams to ensure project milestones are achieved on time.
Support semi-annual Data Certification processes and maintain compliance documentation.
Act as a key business partner, providing analytical leadership, mentoring peers, and guiding decision-making.
Required Experience
10–15 years of total experience in AML, financial crime compliance, or data-driven banking environments.
10+ years as a subject matter expert (SME) in AML Transaction Monitoring systems (Oracle, Actimize, SAS, etc.).
Proven understanding of AML regulations , typologies, and best practices.
Experience managing complex data workflows from ingestion to analytics and reporting.
Nice-to-Have Experience
Experience acting as the central coordination point between Transaction Monitoring, IT, and Data teams.
Familiarity with Financial Investigation Unit (FIU) procedures and Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) filing processes.
Banking or financial institution background preferred.
