Pay Range: $49.43 - $61.04 per hour

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Perform all necessary test protocols on patients in the lab, at bedside, in the Emergency Room, Recovery Room or in the Operating Room as deemed necessary by physician.

Qualifications:

Required:

Education:

• Completion of formal Ultrasound Training Program

• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) status required.

• A technologist may be hired as registry eligible. In such cases the Incumbent must sit for the registry exam within 6 months of hire and pass the exam within the first year of hire or be terminated.

• Successful completion of all Orientation Programs; Completion of all mandatory compliance training

• Experience in a Vascular Laboratory.

Essential Functions:

• Provide a preliminary report for all patients;

• Contact attending/referring physician if a critical finding is obtained.

• Performs ultrasound guided pseudo-aneurysm compression under the direct supervision of vascular surgeon.

• Assists vascular surgeon in ultrasound guided pseudo-aneurysm injections.

• Maintains Vascular Laboratory standards as set by Inter-societal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL).

• Clinical supervision of students attending UMDNJ and Long Island University Vascular Programs.

• Participation in QA evaluations.

• On-call availability.

• Other required responsibilities in order to maintain the standard of excellence of the Vascular Lab.

• Is knowledgeable of, adheres to and promotes safe practices (such as LeapFrog, Never Events, National Patient Safety Goals).
