Office Manager Position Overview
We are seeking an organized, dependable, and creative Office Manager to oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of a busy glassblowing studio. Morris County School of Glass is a public access glassblowing school, studio, and gallery providing access to the art of glassblowing through classes, demonstrations and events. The School offers glassblowing classes, workshops, private lessons, and group events. We also offer a variety of glass mosaic classes.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a creative environment and is comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities, customer service, scheduling, communications, and studio operations.
The Office Manager will serve as an important point of contact for students, customers, instructors, artists, and staff, helping ensure that classes, events, and daily studio activities run smoothly.
Responsibilities may include:
- Manage class and staff scheduling, registrations, cancellations, and customer communications
- Respond to phone calls, emails, and general customer inquiries as necessary
- Help with coordinate private events, group classes, and private lessons
- Maintain class calendars and instructor schedules
- Assist with website updates, newsletters, social media, and promotional materials
- Prepare and distribute marketing and event information
- Maintain office records, files, invoices, and other administrative documents
- Assist with basic bookkeeping and tracking of payments and expenses
- Order office, studio, and event supplies as needed
- Coordinate with instructors and studio staff regarding classes and events
- Help with planning and coordination of studio events and open houses
- Maintain a welcoming and organized front office
- Create seasonal displays and new merchandise as needed in our gallery
- Assist customers and students when they arrive at the studio
- Support the owner/director with administrative and operational projects
- Perform other duties that help keep the studio running efficiently
Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Friendly, professional, and customer-service oriented
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
- Experience with scheduling, customer service, bookkeeping, or office administration preferred
- Ability to learn studio-specific software and systems
- An interest in art, crafts, glass, or other creative fields is a plus
Work Arrangement:
This is a 30–40 hour per week position with a partial remote schedule . Some responsibilities can be completed remotely, while regular in-studio hours will be required for customer service, staff coordination, scheduling, events, and other hands-on administrative needs.
