Currently recruiting for 2nd (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM). The Flex Operator is based at the Totowa, NJ plant. This position will work directly on the production and warehouse floor to complete tasks related to machine operation, batch production, kitting, staging, safety and other related tasks as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for product quality while maintaining company standards and processes.
• Operate blender and kettle machines while maintaining a positive, clean and safe working environment.
• Weighing out various types of raw materials less than a full pack size according to formula. This entails using a scoop to transfer weight from one container to another.

• Staging ingredients for work center operators that convert 'your' ingredients into functional blends for the customer.

• Perform boxes and bags palletizing.
• Follow all GMP's, Safety and Environmental regulations as well as company policies.
• Maintain positive attitude. Focus on the customer. teamwork, and quality productivity.
• Complete production reports to identify problems and maximize productivity.
• Attend regular team meetings which include effective communication of organizational and policy changes.
• Adhere to Lean Process Control Board procedures to ease communication at shift changes.
• Additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Preferred one (1+) plus year manufacturing experience, preferably in a batch maker, mixer, or blender role
• High School Diploma or its equivalent
• Lean Process understanding preferred
• Willingness to work OT with occasional weekend shifts
• Understanding of union policies and procedures

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Manufacturing plant is large, open floor areas with loud machinery, requiring some areas for workers to wear ear protection to guard against noise. Workers are exposed to high temperatures during the summer months. Some work in cold environments during winter months. You will be exposed to a dusty work environment due to raw materials. Materials may contain allergens (eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame seeds, milk, fish, shellfish, wheat).
• Workers may be required to wear masks, hair nets, or gloves to protect the product from possible contamination. Certain areas require respirators.
• Workers usually stand for the majority of their shifts while tending machines or driving a forklift. Lifts 55 pound bags or boxes. Loading, unloading, or cleaning equipment may require lifting, bending, and reaching.

Our offer

This position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement. Compensation and other terms and conditions of employment are subject to the provisions of that agreement. Please note, pay rates and compensation programs may be modified in the future based on business needs, policy updates, or union negotiations, as applicable. At the time of this posting, the compensation for this position is a fixed hourly rate of $21.50 per hour. In addition to the base rate, shift differentials apply as follows: $1.10 per hour for second shift and $ 1.65 per hour for third shift. In addition, we offer:
