Job Overview:

• Hudson & Co. is seeking dedicated porters to join our growing team. We have other concepts located in the Weehawken and West New York as well as Ossining, NY.

  These positions offer great pay and endless opportunity for growth within a dedicated, caring and passionate restaurant group.

  Skills & Requirements:

  + General equipment handling, food safety & sanitation knowledge.

  + High volume restaurant experience preferred but not required.

  + Comfortable working in a fast paced and high energy environment.

  + Able to take constructive criticism, learn quickly and constantly improve.

  
  Responsibilities:

  • Wash and polish delicate plate ware, glassware, flatware, and cookware with care and precision
  • Maintain strict cleanliness and sanitation standards across the dish station and kitchen areas
  • Assist with general kitchen food prep duties as needed
  • Deep clean the dishwasher machine and hood; wash windows and outdoor patio

  + Executing menu items from start to finish. Including but not limited to preparation of ingredients, butchery of proteins, cooking and plating of menu items.

  + Working with seasonal ingredients.

  + Participating in the preparation and development of new menu items.

  + Honing your existing skills while learning new techniques and building your skill set.

  + Working collaboratively with BOH staff and FOH staff.

  + Maintaining cleanliness of any BOH work areas, including and not limited to refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas.

  + Participate in deep cleaning of BOH work areas, including and not limited to refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas.

  Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands
  • Must be able to work on your feet for long periods of time
  • Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required
  • Has the ability to taste all foods to assure correct preparation
