- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and oral hygiene.
- Assist residents with mobility including transferring, positioning, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Monitor and report changes in residents physical, emotional, and mental conditions to the licensed nurse promptly.
- Take and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, and weight as assigned.
- Assist residents with meals including feeding residents who require assistance and documenting intake when necessary.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided according to facility policies and procedures.
- Answer resident call lights promptly and respond to requests for assistance.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents while maintaining respect for their dignity and privacy.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and organized resident environment including making beds and ensuring rooms are tidy.
- Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times.
- Participate in resident care planning and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team.
- Observe and report any safety hazards, incidents, or concerns immediately.
- Attend required in-service training and staff meetings.
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of New Jersey (or applicable state).
- Current CPR certification preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to provide compassionate care in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
