TUTOR Evening and/or Weekends- Grades 9-12 part-time . At Sylvan Learning Center, we have openings for a Math Tutor in our Marlton center to teach Algebra, Algebra 2, Geometry & Pre-Calc. Calc a plus! As a team, we work to increase the confidence of our students, providing them with skills that will last a lifetime. At Sylvan, there are no lesson plans to make and no papers to grade! -Fully prepared lesson plans and materials are provided-Flexible schedules for teachers-Fun & friendly staff-Paid training Requirements: Evening and/or weekend availability a few days per week or weekends. Essential Job Functions:

• Prepares for each instructional session; Gathers and prepares materials as appropriate
• Greets students and initiates instruction to personally engage each student
• Manages students, tasks and time to create a balanced and robust instructional session
• Evaluates and records the progress of each student on their program assignment
• Uses praise and encouragement to ensure students are engaged and inspired to learn
• Motivates students with Sylvan tokens given for specific achievements according to the Sylvan instructional management standards
• Communicates specific student needs to Center staff.

Requirements:

• Four year degree or equivalent required
• State or provincial teaching credentials

Skills and Abilities Required

• Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students to learn
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible

Our center is open the following days & times: Monday - Thursday: 4pm-8pm Saturday: 9am-1:00pm. The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
