Field Service Technician - Industrial Weighing Products

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

As an Industrial Field Service Technician, you will be the on-site expert customers rely on to keep their floor and bench scales running safely, accurately, and efficiently. You will perform preventative maintenance, calibrations, and basic repairs while representing the company professionally at customer locations across your assigned region.

What you will do

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and calibration on industrial weighing equipment (primarily floor and bench scales) at customer sites, following established procedures and safety standards.

• Troubleshoot basic issues and support installations, projects, and repairs as needed, partnering with more experienced technicians when required.

• Provide end-user training so operators understand how to use and care for their equipment correctly.

• Use a company laptop and service software to document work performed, update service records, and maintain data integrity in the service database each day.

• Communicate closely with the Scheduling Analyst, Service Support Team, sales, and fellow technicians to meet customer uptime and response-time expectations.

• Maintain your company vehicle and assigned parts inventory in a clean, organized, and compliant manner.

• Support service revenue by identifying service or product needs and submitting sales leads in line with your experience level.

Follow all company, customer, safety, and quality policies to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED, or 5 years relevant experience with aptitude in Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent technical support/installation experience.
  • Associate's degree with a technical major preferred.
  • Customer-facing or field service experience preferred; commercial experience desired.
  • Basic understanding of electrical/mechanical repair, PC networking, and software configuration.
  • 1-3 years of electro/mechanical repair or weighing industry experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CDL and Weights and Measures license; failure to do so may result in termination.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn proprietary METTLER TOLEDO software.
  • Willingness and ability to travel overnight up to 10-25% primarily by company vehicle or plane.
  • Residence within service territory.
  • Willingness to work overtime (10-25%) as needed.
  • Exposure to workplace hazards including chemicals, traffic, machinery, dust, cold, and fumes.
  • Must wear protective equipment when required.
  • Position is safety sensitive and subject to DOT drug/alcohol testing and physical exams.
  • Physical demands include frequently lifting up to 50 pounds and performing movements like crouching, stooping, kneeling, and bending.
