Senior Interior Designer - FF&E - Somerset - negotiable (V04294)
Our client is a highly regarded interior design and bespoke joinery practice, delivering exceptional work across some of the most prestigious private homes in the UK and internationally. Their portfolio spans whole-house design, combining architectural joinery, fitted furniture, and refined interiors that sit seamlessly with a specialism for period properties.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join their creative team. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of complex, multi-room residential projects, shaping cohesive and beautifully executed interiors from concept through to completion.
As a Senior Interior Designer, you will lead the creative direction of high-end residential and heritage projects, delivering thoughtful spatial design and expertly curated FF&E schemes. You will play a key role in translating design concepts into detailed, buildable solutions, ensuring consistency and quality at every stage.
This position is ideal for a designer with a passion for craftsmanship, period architecture, and bespoke detailing, who is ready to take a leadership role within a collaborative studio environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design Leadership:
- Lead design strategy, produce and develop layouts, drawings and bespoke joinery designs
- Create presentation boards, material palettes and FF&E schemes
- Prepare and manage budgets for client approval
- Oversee on-site installations and final styling
Team Collaboration & Mentorship:
- Mentor and support Midweight and Junior Designers
- Participate in design reviews and site visits
Cross-Disciplinary Coordination:
- Ensure alignment between design intent, procurement schedules, and project timelines
- Coordinate with architectural and technical teams (including MEP considerations)
- Refine elevations, finishes and joinery details with project stakeholders
Client & Supplier Engagement:
- Build strong client relationships and understand project aspirations
- Liaise with suppliers, craftspeople and specialists for costing and delivery
- Contribute to the development of the studio’s materials library
Documentation & Delivery:
- Oversee the preparation of presentations, specifications and budgets
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation throughout all project stages
- Lead the design team to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery
Skills & Experience Required from the Senior Interior Designer:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in high-end residential interior design
- Strong client-facing and presentation skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage complex projects
- In-depth knowledge of luxury FF&E, materials, finishes, and lighting
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Excel and EstiPC (or similar)
